Our ceramic factory produces ceramic parts, and there are many forming methods for ceramics, mainly including mold pressing, injection molding, injection molding, isostatic pressing, hot pressing, and so on. There are also many sintering methods for ceramics, including atmospheric pressure sintering, hot pressing sintering, reaction sintering, Hot isostatic pressing sintering, etc. There are also methods combining forming and burning, such as hot pressing and Hot isostatic pressing. Below is a brief description of several commonly used methods for forming and preparing typical engineering ceramics.

(1) Alumina ceramics

The preparation process of alumina ceramics is relatively simple. Alumina powder is mixed with additives through ball milling, and then formed. The forming methods include dry pressing, isostatic pressing, grouting, extrusion, injection molding, hot pressing injection, and hot pressing. In addition to the hot pressing method, the dry pressing method and isostatic pressing method can be used to process the green body to obtain the required shape and size. For the injection casting method, the green body needs to be repaired, and the green body obtained by the extrusion method, injection molding method, and hot pressing injection method needs to remove the binder before it can be fired. Alumina ceramics are generally sintered under normal pressure, and the sintering system of microcrystalline glass has a significant impact on the properties of the material. A reasonable sintering system should be developed based on the composition, product shape, and performance requirements.

(2) Zirconia ceramic

Partially stabilized zirconia Filter (aquarium)#Materials suitable for aquarium filtration (Mg - PSZ). Mg PSZ materials can be formed using various methods, among which the isostatic pressing process is a relatively common method. Injection molding is suitable for preparing thin-walled components with regular shapes, while injection molding is suitable for preparing complex shaped components. In the preparation process, sintering solid solution is a key process, which has two purposes, one is to compact the materials, the other is to make zirconia and stabilizer fully solid solution to form square zirconia, and the final sintering temperature is related to the raw material activity and material composition. Heat treatment at a certain temperature after sintering is a more important step in the process, aiming to precipitate shuttle shaped metastable tetragonal zirconia in the zirconia grains of cubic alumina ceramic rods, hence it is called partially stable zirconia ceramics. The tetragonal zirconia with ceramic central rod can play a good role in stress induced transformation toughening, which greatly improves the material properties compared with the fully stable Cubic zirconia ceramics.
